NASAL CONGESTION-TREATMENTS

Nasal congestion is usually caused by the inflamed blood vessels inside the nose and thereby causing the tissue swelling. This leads eventually to the drainage of thick mucus to accumulate inside the nasal space to cause congestion.
A stuffed nose may produce difficulty in breathing and hence people feel awful.
Rhinoviruses are the most common causative organisms for cold symptoms. This type of infection is followed by sneezing, sore throat, and cough.
Allergic rhinitis also one of the causes of cold. Allergic rhinitis occurs when the body's immunity system overreacts with a substance that is harmless. Examples are pollen grains, dust, and pets. Symptoms are sneezing runny nose and itchy eyes.
Occupational Rhinitis is very similar to allergic rhinitis. It occurs when someone has a reaction with a substance in their work atmosphere.
Symptoms include coughing along with the allergic rhinitis symptoms.
Pregnancy Rhinitis Pregnancy affects many parts of the body including the nose. During pregnancy hormones such as progesterone and estrogen secretions are high. These higher secretions of the hormones can cause edema and inflammations of the mucous membrane inside the nose and eventually causes the rhinitis symptoms.
Atrophic Rhinitis This sort of rhinitis occurs when there is a thinning and hardening of the mucous membrane inside the nose. This is very common in people who have had multiple nasal surgeries.
