URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS (UTIs)
Normal urine should have a color of pale or clear yellow. If any changes in the color of the urine then it must be due to some pathological condition in the urinary system such as a UTI.
Normally our blood hemoglobin degrades into uro chrome a yellow substance that is excreted in the urine which turns the urine a pale-colored.
The following are the list of color changes of urine and their causes.
1. The neon-bright yellow color may indicate that too much intake of riboflavin the vitamin B2 of course this may be harmless.
2. Higher urine content may some times cause a darker color. Content means the proportions of the waste products that are excreted in the urine. Darker urine usually an indicator of dehydration and more fluids should be taken.
3.Orange Urine. This usually caused by the intake of rifampicin an antibiotic for treating tuberculosis.
The pain killer drug phenazopyridine, some laxatives, and some chemotherapeutic agents can cause the urine to become orange in color.
Diets such as carrots,(because of its beta carotene),
4.Red Urine.
Blood in the urine can cause urine into the red. Red urine with pain and other symptoms indicate that there is an emergency to see the doctor.
Beetroot and blackberries also can turn the urine into red or pink and is harmless.

6.Deep Purple Urine
A condition known as porphyria can cause urine into deep purple due to the excretion of a pigment porphyrin. Porphyrin is excreted by our body due to some metabolic disorders.
7.Green Urine
Green urine is formed due to some drugs such as promethazine(anti-allergic), propofol (anesthetic),
amitriptyline(anti-depressant),cimetidine(H2 receptor blocker),and Indomethacin(pain killer)
Dyes included indigo blue, indigo carmine used in kidney tests, carbolic acid, and flavin derivatives.
